Veeam® Software is expanding its footprint in Central Europe by opening a new research and development center in Prague, Czech Republic where engineers will work on innovative data management, automation, and Hyper-Availability technology. Veeam is set to increase its investment in local talent with plans for new jobs in roles ranging from marketing, software development and engineering, sales and human resources.

Located in the funky design quarter, Hole?ovice, the new Veeam office will double the square footage of its existing premises to 3,000 sq. ft., mirroring the aggressive growth the software firm has delivered in recent years; Veeam has reported 39 consecutive quarters of double-digit bookings growth, and is the unquestionable leader in providing intelligent data management solutions for the Hyper-Available enterprise.

“Most of the jobs we’re creating here in Prague will be specialized, high-tech roles and quality assurance positions within our R&D teams,” said Anton Gostev, Vice President of Product Management at Veeam. “We will hire people capable of creating our next big idea, to make the digital economy we live in ‘always-on’ and hyper-available, and in turn create new customer experiences, transform business models and empower workforce innovations. These roles are absolutely key to the continued growth of Veeam and in strengthening our leadership position in the intelligent data management sector”

The new office will have capacity for more than 500 employees across three floors of the ultra-modern workspace, just a short walk from the previous home of Veeam in Karlin, The Hyper-Availability experts are keen to attract Czech Republic’s best technology talent for soon-to-be-announced roles.

The diversity of the Hole?ovice district of Prague is key to Veeam’s desire to base itself there, as Gostevcontinues, “A location such as this, with an educated population, rich cultural investment, and good recreational facilities is key to ensuring we hire candidates that fit the Veeam culture and ethos. “

From its Prague office, Veeam has representation in most countries across the region and is actively expanding its network of distributors and partners to enlarge its presence. In addition to developing award-winning Veeam software, Veeam R&D center employees in Prague are creating enterprise-level products and delivering off-the-shelf software for the B2B market. In the Czech Republic Veeam currently has 2,830 customers in the Czech Republic, 98 certified partners within the Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) program, and 394 ProPartners.

Increasing sales rapidly driving EMEA expansion plans

Veeam’s continued global success is fueling the Czech Veeam team which has reported 26 percent year-over-year (YoY) growth in total bookings in Q1 2018. As recently confirmed by IDC, Veeam has retained its leading position in the Czech data protection and data recovery software market in 2017 with 23.1 percent market share, and IDC expects the market share to increase further over the course of 2018.

In our R&D facility in Prague, we have a team of highly-skilled technology professionals working on the development of Hyper-Availability solutions to serve our ever-increasing customer base of more than 300,000 customers worldwide,“ said Olivier Robinne, Senior Vice President of EMEA at Veeam. „Hyper-availability is the new expectation for data in today’s business world. Data must move from today’s basic legacy solutions for Backup and Recovery, which copy data at prescribed intervals, to a new system of Intelligent Data Management, where data learns to respond instantly and appropriately to what actually happens anywhere across the infrastructure, not just based on policy but on identified behaviours.“

Robinne concludes:“As with the rest of the world, the Czech Republic is undergoing a digital transition and is building out how it can increase productivity, agility and grow its economy. As such, the next few years will be an exciting time to be a part of the growing digital economy in the Czech Republic, and we’re thrilled to be expanding our team in the city of Prague. We believe the news today displays our commitment to the Czech Republic and its plans to realise the benefits of digital transformation and increase the profile of the country within Europe’s growing tech sector.“
