Trifacta launches Cloud-based Data Prep in Europe

Enables businesses to adhere to data residency guidelines by allowing them to wrangle data in European data centres .

Trifacta's cloud-based data preparation tool, Trifacta Wrangler Edge, is now available in Europe. The product is hosted in European data centres, which makes it especially attractive to European-based companies.
Since its introduction in November 2016, Trifacta Wrangler Edge has seen broad adoption in the U.S., giving cross-functional departments and teams the ability to quickly deploy projects and wrangle diverse data for analysis. One of the biggest benefits is that these teams don’t need to manage infrastructure or installation, which makes it ideal for nimble, business-oriented teams.
Heike Prior, Team Manager of Clinical Operations and Clinical Science Systems at Roche, explained, “We found Edge to be the best self-service data preparation solution for our data challenges. It will allow us to transform the way our scientists and business users are working with data, ultimately spending less time preparing and more time analysing critical data.”
“With the opening of our European data centres, we are responding to a desire from customers to choose where they host their data. We want to serve the needs of all users across our customer base, regardless of where they want their data stored,” explains Jeremy Perlman, VP Europe at Trifacta. “Many of our customers don’t have the IT resources to manage infrastructure or private cloud environments, but with Wrangler Edge now in Europe, we’re enabling business users to wrangle data in spite of data residency restrictions.”
Iosu Santurtun, CTO of Wise Athena, a start-up which specialises in artificial intelligence applications said: “At Wise Athena we have very large and diverse sets of data. Trifacta Wrangler Edge enables our business teams to get quick and easy access to the data they need to make decisions. Coupled with a significant drop in data preparation time means that time to value has been very short.”
