How employee expectations are driving enterprise mobility

Employee expectations are increasingly driving enterprise mobility strategies, helping organisations to improve business performance and agility while reducing costs, according to a new whitepaper from Pervasive, part of Capita IT Services.

The paper – ‘The road to seamless enterprise mobility’ - sets out how enterprise mobility must offer more than simple wireless connectivity, and suggests even the most dynamic solutions will fail to work effectively if a top-level strategy is not in place.

Essential components for implementing a fast, secure and cost effective mobile solution include:

·         Latest generation wireless technologies;
·         A joined-up security strategy across network and client platforms – this should include an Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution;
·         A unified policy management solution, to ensure users get personalised and appropriate access based on who they are, where they are and the device type and method of access. This will help to keep costs down.

The paper goes on to set out a roadmap towards successful implementation, and explores which vital building blocks are necessary to move towards enterprise mobility, including remote access, a unified access policy, and mobile engagement.

Naz Dossa, MD, Networking Connectivity at Capita Networking Solutions, said: “Enterprise mobility is a key business enabler that underpins strategy and agility for businesses and their employees.  It could help provide organisations with valuable insights into their network usage and analysis, as well as allowing employees to access corporate resources at any time, on any device from everywhere.

“But the move towards enterprise mobility is not always easy, and getting the strategy right in the first instance is essential. Once this roadmap is in place, the route to improved business performance, productivity, agility and reduced costs is made far clearer.”
