Six Degrees leverages Cloud Connect platform

Six Degrees Group, the UK-based hosting and managed services provider, has selected Interxion's Cloud Connect platform to build and manage private connections to multiple public cloud providers.

The platform enables Six Degrees to deliver the benefits of a hybrid cloud strategy to its customers, without the performance and security concerns associated with using the public internet to do so. Organisations in the UK can now easily leverage Six Degrees’ expertise and network coverage to extend their IT to the public cloud.

Head of Product - Data at Six Degrees, Richard Norman, states: “Interxion’s Cloud Connect platform is a key enabler for our Cloudhop service that provides secure and private network connectivity to hyperscale public cloud services. We provide managed hosting services on Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, including Office 365, and Cloudhop allows us to provide end-to-end solutions spanning network, infrastructure, platform and application management.”
Cloud Connect from Interxion provides secure and high performance interconnections to multiple clouds from one physical connection. It meets growing demand from organisations for high performance and secure hybrid cloud architecture.

Six Degrees selected Cloud Connect based on the quality of Interxion’s data centre infrastructure - located in the heart of central London – as well as the calibre of its support staff. Norman adds; “What’s more, as an organisation based in London and working with businesses also based in the capital, proximity was an important factor to minimise latency. We can also flex in real-time with customer workload demands.”
Managing Director at Interxion, Andrew Fray adds; “Through this important collaboration organisations can trust Six Degrees and Interxion to deliver their hybrid cloud strategy and meet all their hyperscale computing demands.  Together, we provide the infrastructure, connectivity and expertise, with a single SLA and point of contact”. Fray concludes: “This means businesses don’t need to worry about the technology they rely upon; they can focus their attention on doing business.”
Six Degrees has already successfully connected customers to the public cloud through Interxion’s Cloud Connect platform, with more planned in the year ahead.
