D2L selects AWS

D2L’s use of AWS Cloud will accelerate global expansion and innovation.

Learning is about to take another leap forward. D2L, a learning technology leader, has selected Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its strategic public cloud infrastructure provider. D2L will be able to serve its global customers from AWS locations in the US, Europe, Asia, and plans to also use the AWS location that will open in Montreal, Canada.
“At AWS, we share D2L’s passion for delivering an excellent learning experience,” said Andrew Ko, Global Director of Education, Worldwide Public Sector, Amazon Web Services, Inc. “With AWS, all learners around the world using Brightspace will have the same high-quality experience and access to cutting-edge innovation.”
D2L’s Brightspace is a digital learning platform that helps schools, universities, colleges and enterprises deliver personalised learning experiences in a classroom or online to people anywhere in the world. D2L is accelerating its innovation by leveraging built-in AWS services such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon CloudFront, Amazon Elasticsearch, and the suite of AWS analytics and security services. With AWS’s reliability, security, and availability, D2L will continue to provide its high level of service and a global, end-to-end security approach, now on one trusted infrastructure.
“D2L’s mission is to transform the way the world learns and this collaboration with AWS is a significant milestone in that journey,” stated John Baker, D2L President and CEO. “Leveraging this cloud infrastructure, we can put even more effort into further innovating our award-winning LMS. Our customers can trust that their valuable data will be stored and delivered with industry-leading reliability and security – a promise we have delivered on for the past 17 years”
