NGD partners with Infosys for data centre services

NGD (Next Generation Data) has partnered with Infosys, a global leader in consulting, technology and next-generation services, as part of a data centre services requirement from a water utilities company based in Wales.

This follows the recent selection of Infosys to manage substantial elements of the client’s IT estate.

A bespoke provisioned installation of high density/high performance computing racks is now operational at NGD’s secure colocation facility. This can take advantage of the abundant power (180 MW) and diverse low latency connectivity available, assuring high levels of resilience and redundancy while enabling scalable expansion in the future.

“We are working with NGD as part of this major project in order to deliver the data centre hosting and High Performance Computing capabilities that are helping our client to transform its technology estate,” said Mukul Gupta, Vice President and Head of Energy, Utility and Services in Europe at Infosys.

Simon Taylor, Chairman, NGD added: “Our partnership with Infosys on this important utilities contract is further recognition of how many of the world’s leading IT services companies are selecting NGD’s highly secure and resilient infrastructure. This includes supporting both their immediate and longer term UK hosting requirements, from Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud to Big Data and HPC.”
