The R&D centre, located in the Meudon area of Paris, is hiring developers, support personnel and field sales engineers with staffing targets set to exceed 50 employees in 2016.  The Centre will be a hotbed of research and development focused on innovation in areas such as end-to-end big data lifecycle management and accelerating time to insight through analytics and application acceleration. The centre will enable DDN to continue providing high levels of customer support and to further develop strategic industry and academic partnerships throughout Europe.
“As a global technology leader, DDN has achieved significant success in deploying its end-to-end data lifecycle management solutions in a large number of leading European enterprises, universities and Government agencies, from the financial services sector to manufacturing, energy, medical, genomics, cloud and pure research environments,” said Alex Bouzari, DDN CEO and Co-founder. “The brilliance of the researchers, scientists and engineers coming out of universities throughout Europe and nurtured in its enterprises, has compelled us to make a significant investment measured in tens of millions of euros to create a large scale advanced technology Centre in Paris, France. This Centre will not only be one of our flagship research and development facilities in the World, it will also be an ideal incubator and platform for collaboration, joint innovation and support for our many valued European partners and customers."

The new centre will also support DDN’s partnerships with local universities and customers in the Paris area including collaboration with the University of Versailles and the Velizey Engineering School (ISTY), where DDN engineers teach and lead classes, as well as research collaboration with CEA, the French Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission.
“The French and European High Performance Computing markets continue to flourish as users in industry rely more on HPC to gain a competitive advantage. Through our partnership with DDN we are able to bring to market products and solutions with advanced technology that deliver value to our customers at the core of their business,” said Gabriel Broner, vice president and general manager of High Performance Computing, SGI. “DDN’s new Advanced Research and Development Centre demonstrates the growing significance of HPC in France and across Europe, and its dedication to investing in talent, partnerships and customers to continue to address the increasingly complex HPC and data challenges.”
