Acronis has expanded its UK and Ireland distribution agreement with CMS Distribution. The new agreement makes the latest Acronis hybrid cloud data protection solutions, including backup, cloud storage, disaster recovery, and file sync & share solutions, available to the CMS Distribution cloud reseller network.

The new agreement brings together best-in-class hybrid cloud data protection – starting with backup – from Acronis with CMS Distribution’s well-developed network of UK and Ireland service providers. Service providers in the region now have access to easy, complete and affordable Acronis cloud data protection solutions – backed by the services and expertise of CMS Distribution.

The agreement supports CMS Distribution’s strategy of growing its cloud solutions offer with best-in-class products from a well-known and respected brand.

Growing volumes of data and information, increasing dependency on digital business processes, and the increasing threat of disasters and cyber-crime like Ransomware are making data backup and protection a critical modern day IT requirement. This new partnership with CMS Distribution will satisfy the growing demand for cloud data protection in the UK, with 50% of businesses expecting to move all IT assets off-premise in the future (UK Cloud Industry Forum 2015).

According to Technavio, the global cloud backup and recovery software market is predicted to grow at a CAGR of 13% from 2016-2020; Cloud Backup & Recovery a $5.2 billion Global opportunity by 2020.

Acronis differs from other data protection vendors in that it delivers a complete hybrid cloud architecture that easily plugs into existing service provider environments, while seamlessly supporting their management and business support systems.

Acronis offers a complete hybrid cloud data protection suite of solutions featuring a unified management platform – Backup, Disaster Recovery, Storage, File Synch & Share. Powered by the Acronis AnyData Engine, Acronis Backup Cloud delivers a highly customised, reliable service that backs up data from any source and recovers to any destination and system.

As part of the new agreement, CMS Distribution will provide licensing, business development and support services for service providers and system integrators selling Acronis data protection solutions. This will enable these customers to tap into the growing market for data protection services without the need for any initial investment.

“Acronis is aggressively expanding its network of service provider partners worldwide to capitalise on the huge market for cloud data protection services,” said John Zanni, CMO and SVP Channel and Cloud Strategy, Acronis. “Our expanded agreement with CMS Distribution greatly accelerates these growth efforts in the UK and Ireland, and we’re excited to show CMS partners what our latest cloud solutions for service providers can do.”

“As the adoption rates of cloud services is healthily growing among our reseller network, expanding our portfolio offering with a key partner such as Acronis was a simple decision,” said Frank Salmon, CEO & Founder at CMS Distribution. “Together we are committed to enhance partner profitability and provide highly flexible cloud solutions designed for service providers in order to always remain competitive within every opportunity.”
