TriCore Solutionsa leading managed application services and cloud provider, has implemented Infinidat's InfiniBox™ enterprise-proven storage array to increase performance, improve operational efficiencies and expand its services effectively.

TriCore has been rapidly expanding its business, adding new customers and continuously increasing storage capacity. The company realised it had to find a cost-effective, scalable storage solution to add capacity for meeting customers’ growing storage needs.

“InfiniBox yields huge benefits to cloud providers that need increasingly larger storage capacities, yet want to optimise their floor space, cooling and power requirements in their data centres,” said Matt Iavarone, Director of Systems and Storage Infrastructure at TriCore Solutions. “InfiniBox sustained increased times relative to the IOPS that we observed from other storage systems, many of which were all flash arrays. The InfiniBox performance is measurably superior to other storage solutions tested.”

InfiniBox automates storage provisioning for TriCore, making the provisioning process significantly faster and saving valuable time for the storage engineers.

“Provisioning storage for InfiniBox takes me about five minutes,” explained Iavarone. “In addition, its highly intuitive management interface enables engineers to start managing the system immediately.”

Online upgrades have been carried out flawlessly, according to Iavarone. He said, “The data on our servers is worth many millions of dollars in revenues to our customers, so operations cannot be interrupted. When other vendors say that upgrades are performed online and with no interruption, it’s not always the case. With InfiniBox, all upgrades have been completely transparent, with no interruption to production.”

In addition to the InfiniBox performance, reliability and management benefits, TriCore Solutions was impressed with the storage array’s total cost of ownership (TCO).

“InfiniBox’s pricing is extremely competitive,” said Peter Salamanca, Vice President of Infrastructure at TriCore Solutions. “All software licenses are included with the hardware, at no additional cost. This is a significant advantage from a TCO perspective, and it also simplifies the management of the storage environment — I know that I can get any software I need without having to increase our cost per storage unit.”
