SailPoint releases the open identity and access management platform

IdentityIQ 7.0 enables “identity-aware” operational and security systems.

SailPoint has introduced the latest release of IdentityIQ™. With IdentityIQ 7.0, SailPoint continues to disrupt the industry with the first open IAM platform that delivers unmatched integration with the broader operational and IT security infrastructure. IdentityIQ 7.0 gives customers the ability to link identity and security investments in order to better prevent, identify and contain data breaches.

SailPoint IdentityIQ 7.0 provides an open platform offering robust API interfaces, which is the foundation for SailPoint’s new Identity+ Alliance program (see release: SailPoint Launches Identity+ Alliance to Accelerate and Enhance Integration with Operational and Security Infrastructures). By allowing customers to leverage IdentityIQ as a broker of identity information between their security and operational systems – such as privileged account management, user behavior analytics, data governance, mobile device management, security information and event management, single sign-on, and IT service management – the Identity+ Alliance program gives customers the user-specific identity context needed to make more informed, real-time decisions. With this knowledge, customers are better positioned to address any business process or security event across the entire IT infrastructure.

“The reality is that a well-protected wall around the corporate network is no longer sufficient to predict and stop every attack on sensitive corporate data,” said Paul Trulove, vice president of product management at SailPoint. “With IdentityIQ 7.0, we’re putting IAM at the core of IT and security to better equip our customers with the visibility needed to quickly react to a breach, understand who and what is at risk, and potentially shut down an attack before it spreads.”

As part of this announcement, SailPoint is leveraging IdentityIQ’s open platform to expand its already-extensive library of connectors, including:
  • New or enhanced connectors for Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Dropbox, ServiceNow (Geneva and Fuji releases) and Duo Security to help organizations address security across cloud applications;
  • An extension of IdentityIQ’s SAP integration to SAP GRC, delivering granular entitlement management and automatically validation of access changes for segregation of duty violations; and
  • A full integration with SecurityIQ, SailPoint’s data access governance solution, allowing customers to manage and control access rights to the growing volumes of structured and unstructured data as a part of their IAM strategy.

In order for IAM to be successful at the core of IT and security operations, business users must be actively involved in security and governance processes. SailPoint IdentityIQ 7.0 provides a business-ready, mobile-first user interface that delivers a consistent and unified user experience across all desktops, tablets and smartphones. IdentityIQ 7.0’s enhanced user interface reduces the average time to request, approve and provision user access by up to 50 percent. And, importantly, SailPoint IdentityIQ 7.0 speeds up a deployment through its innovative use of responsive user interface technologies, saving IT staff valuable time when implementing access request and provisioning forms for use with all devices.
