UC Point, award-winning provider of global Unified Communications and Collaboration services, and gateway specialist Patton announce their strategic partnership. This collaboration will provide comprehensive solutions for UC environments to customers: reliable hardware paired with services for worldwide 24/7 proactive monitoring and remote troubleshooting. For this purpose, Patton recently certified two product series for the remote monitoring tool from UC Point.

Being a global Microsoft High Potential Partner for Skype for Business (former MS Lync) UC Point takes great care to identify hardware products that offer high dependability and stability. This provides the foundation for a simple, secure installation and customer-friendly remote support. The SmartNode products from Patton are characterized by these distinguishing features. Hence, UC Point made the decision to certify the VoIP media gateways from the SmartNode product series 411x and 452x, as well as, S2M E1/T1 enterprise gateway routers from the SmartNode product series 49xx. These products passed extensive testing and are now certified for use with UC Point’s award-winning remote monitoring tool UCP RAP.

The UCP RAP provides proactive monitoring and disaster recovery in addition to remote troubleshooting as part of a comprehensive support contract. In order to remotely monitor the health and functionality of a company’s UC environment around the clock it is necessary to connect the UCP RAP to the local media gateway via serial interface. The connection between the UCP RAP and media gateway enables secure remote access to the local Skype for Business servers using a highly secure tunnel to transmit key metrics between the customer site and UC Point.
