MigSolv offers 'low-cost' instant business computing for start-ups and SMEs

Following its recent multi-million pound contract-win with Ormuco, MigSolv, the Norwich-based specialist data centre provider, today announced the launch of a suite of Cloud computing solutions that provide low-cost instant computing suited for start-ups and SMEs.

Alex Rabbetts, CEO MigSolv said:  “Cloud computing delivered locally is a boon for the new  business ventures and SMEs as many don’t want to commit to big upfront IT investments.  Anyone starting out or just looking to reduce their technology costs can now contact us to switch on an ‘instance’ of a server or storage in a matter of seconds.  This ‘instance’ can be used for hosting a website, applications, data processing and backup or any other computing need and costs start from 1p per hour on a pay-as-you-go basis.”

MigSolv’s Cloud computing solution is based on Ormurco’s award-winning Connected Cloud platform and offers an alternative to more robust datacentre and collocation services.  MigSolv’s Gatehouse facility on Barnard Road, Norwich occupies 6,000m2 on a 3.64 hectare campus and provides affordable and reliable data centre space for regional and national businesses.  Businesses, local, national and international can choose from a range of services that help them do better business in a safe and secure environment.

The Gatehouse has won environmental accolades for its design: the EU Green Light and EU Code of Conduct awards.

Continued Rabbetts: “Public Cloud computing isn’t right for everyone but can be a good option for businesses not wishing to embark on significant capital outlay or those wishing for a pay-as-you-go service that can be switched on, and off, at any time with no contract in place.  One major advantage of our Cloud service is that it is, on average, between 10and 20 percent cheaper than some of the other well-known providers. It is also serviced and supported locally so we can respond quickly to any computing problem or breakdown.  Other providers ask their customers to send in an email to notify them when they have a fault with no indication of when a reply might be forthcoming. Data sovereignty is also becoming an important issue, with MigSolv the data is entirely held and managed locally and is guaranteed never to leave our shores.”
