Infinidat and Brocade form technology alliance

Combining INFINIDAT and Brocade technologies ensures optimal performance, reliability, scalability, and simplicity of enterprise data storage.

Infinidat has formed an extensive technology alliance with Brocade that includes INFINIDAT selling Brocade Fibre Channel SAN and IP networking products as part of an InfiniBox enterprise data storage solution and the integration of key storage and networking technologies that will enhance enterprise storage deployments. The two companies will also jointly develop and test storage solutions to help customers reduce the risks, costs, and complexities of deploying new storage while ensuring predictable performance and availability.

As part of this alliance, INFINIDAT has developed Soft Targets, a unique feature that decouples the logical and physical networking ports, allowing them to failover when the port becomes unavailable (e.g. planned maintenance, port / node failure). As a result, applications will not lose their data path while storage teams perform maintenance or when a port fails. Brocade ClearLink Diagnostics is an example of a capability that can be enhanced by INFINIDAT Soft Targets to ensure signal integrity for additional reliability and uninterrupted access to storage arrays.

Through the Brocade Solid State Ready Program, INFINIDAT and Brocade have jointly tested solutions across multiple host operating systems and revisions of both companies’ platforms.  This extensive integration and testing will help ensure applications do not suffer a loss of performance or reliability should a data path become unavailable, as is common with legacy storage systems.

“We are proud to partner with Brocade, establish interoperability with its product set and offer a one-stop shopping experience that combines these complementary enterprise-proven technologies,” said Jacob Broido, Vice President of Product Management at INFINIDAT. “Customers get a comprehensive solution that is simple to implement, offers ease of maintenance and no risk of downtime.”

Key components of the INFINIDAT and Brocade solution include:
  • Brocade storage networking including both Fibre Channel and IP products for the most reliable and flexible connectivity to multiple host systems.
  • Brocade Fabric Vision technology that complements the resiliency of INFINIDAT by enabling increased uptime and optimised performance.
  • INFINIDAT InfiniBox – A truly unified storage system for mission-critical applications, featuring predictable high performance, single frame multi-petabyte capacity, superior availability, and unmatched TCO.
  • INFINIDAT Host Power Tools – Capabilities included with every InfiniBox to automatically ensure hosts and networks are configured to maximize performance and reliability based on best practices.
Unlike legacy storage systems, the solution combining these products helps ensure the enterprise that their information is always available and performing at its peak from server to storage without compromise.

“Our alliance with INIFINIDAT will enable customers to acquire and deploy enterprise storage solutions with confidence,” said Jack Rondoni, vice president of storage networking at Brocade. “These integrated offerings from Brocade and INFINIDAT leverage innovative storage and networking technologies designed for continuous business operations and breakthrough application performance.”
