Zayo Group Holdings has been selected by ServerChoice, a leading UK secure hosting specialist, to connect to one of its key Hertfordshire data centres. The project, which will be complete in January 2016, will provide ServerChoice with an on-demand, secure and scalable infrastructure for its customers.

ServerChoice are UK-based secure hosting specialists, delivering high-security cloud platforms, colocation and managed IT security services. Its customers, which range from SME to multi-national enterprises, all require resilient, flexible connectivity to support their secure hosting needs. In order to meet the growing demand for bandwidth, ServerChoice needed a cost-effective and scalable infrastructure to replace their existing fixed-fibre network which was no longer fit for purpose. By deploying dark fibre from Zayo, ServerChoice can provide a highly secure, flexible network solution that better supports their customers’ business activities.

“We were facing a problem in that when we needed additional capacity for our customers, which was becoming more frequent, we would have long lead times with our existing providers – often as long as 35 days for an upgrade to an existing service,” said Mark Boost, managing director of ServerChoice. “Of all the providers in the area, we quickly identified Zayo as the best partner to bring our Welwyn data centre on-net with a dedicated fibre solution.”

By bringing dark fibre into the facility, ServerChoice can easily provision additional capacity for customers in its Hertfordshire data centre. This, along with Zayo’s open access suite of products, means ServerChoice’s Welwyn data centre has the opportunity to become a carrier-neutral colocation site. In addition, UK organisations from all business sectors will now be able to access Zayo's global infrastructure.

“Zayo’s infrastructure gives ServerChoice greater control and flexibility in its network,” said Alastair Kane, vice president of Zayo Europe. “Our network has the capability to support ServerChoice and its customers now and in the future as their organisations continue to grow.”
