At HP Protect, the company’s annual enterprise security user conference, HP introduced new enterprise data security capabilities designed to support customers as they shift from traditional security methods to protecting interactions between users, applications and data. Delivered through the data-centric security offerings of HP Atalla and HP Security Voltage, these new capabilities address PCI compliance, data de-identification and collaboration security.
Cyber criminals today are motivated to steal enterprise data, intellectual property and employee or customer information. According to a report from Intel Security in conjunction with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the estimated global loss from cybercrime is $575 billion annually (Understand The Business Impact And Cost Of A Breach, January 2015, Forrester Research)1. The ability to render data useless if lost or stolen, through data-centric encryption, is an essential benefit to ensure data remains secure.
“The amount of data that enterprises must protect is increasing at an alarming rate, and it is essential that organisations not only process and store all of this data, but that they encrypt it so that only key stakeholders can access it,” said Albert Biketi, Vice President & General Manager, HP Security, HP Atalla and HP Security Voltage. “Our enterprise data protection offerings help safeguard the growing volumes of sensitive data, while helping customers to protect corporate brand and reputation as well as mitigate the cost of responding to data loss, regulatory fines, and penalties due to noncompliance or a breach.”
Cloud Access Security Integration
Most corporate data will eventually reside in sanctioned SaaS applications approved for daily business use. Organisations are beginning to focus on the risks inherent in this trend by extending visibility, governance and protection to these applications. HP Atalla now offers integration of Adallom with HP ArcSight through the Cloud Access Security protection platform. This integration extends the boundaries of enterprise security into the cloud, allowing organizations to secure data, gain actionable intelligence into cloud application usage and detect suspicious activities. The platform will enable customer information to flow from Adallom, a Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), to HP ArcSight’s leading Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platform, with the advantage of viewing analytics from a single GUI.
HP SecureMail eDiscovery
Information in company emails must be securely retained for longer periods in compliance with corporate, legal and regulatory requirements. To help customers remove the complexity of data protection, retention and accessibility of securely archived data, HP SecureMail eDiscovery simplifies discovery requests by decrypting messages and attachments through an easy-to-use GUI interface.
HP SecureData Payments
To enable enterprises to stay ahead of evolving PCI and compliance standards, the enhanced HP SecureData Payments 4.1 delivers end-to-end protection of customer data and enables secure data capture at the point of payment or POS to processing hosts. HP SecureData Payments supports additional platforms and cryptographic capabilities, including support for the new x86-based HP Integrity NonStop X platform and longer cryptographic keys. This allows merchants to offer new services requiring sensitive data capture at customer interaction points, such as SSN data for instant credit checks, non-traditional payments, loyalty programs or regulated survey data such as ZIP or post codes.
HP Atalla IPC Express
Unstructured information in Office documents, .PDFs, email, attachments, images, CAD design files, and more is growing much faster than structured information. Automated data classification at the time of data creation is necessary to stay ahead of protecting this data. HP Atalla IPC Express is a powerful yet lightweight solution that automates unstructured data classification and deterministic protection of email, MS-Office documents and PDF files. Atalla IPC Express shares the advanced technology of the HP Atalla IPC Enterprise version, while addressing the requirements of enterprises that need to streamline compliance processes and optimise existing DLP and email encryption gateway deployments. Atalla IPC Express is a low-TCO and near-zero-configuration solution, which is especially beneficial to enterprises that do not have the support team in place to establish and manage detailed information-classification and protection policies.
