Continued strong demand for VIRTUS intelligent LONDON2 data centre drives early Phase 2 build out

2015 demand for VIRTUS intelligent data centre services already set to double record 2014 sales.

VIRTUS Data Centres has announced 12 new customer wins in 2015 and the extension of three existing customer contracts into its new state-of-the-art LONDON2 data centre in Hayes. This continued success further demonstrates the customer appeal of the unique innovative VIRTUS intelligent data centre service from the UK’s fastest growing data centre provider.

Consistent demand for Phase 1 of data hall space at LONDON2, which opened in December 2014 is driving the build out of LONDON2’s Phase 2 expansion ahead of schedule. Development of LONDON2’s Phase 2 has already begun and will initially deliver a further 3MW plus of IT load. On completion of Phase 2, two thirds of the UTI Tier III certified, BREEAM Excellent LONDON2 site will be complete and available for client use.

VIRTUS new customer wins include companies specialising in cloud technology, secure hosting, professional services and education; as well as the finance industry and a mining company, further building out VIRTUS’ cloud, financial and utilities communities. In addition, VIRTUS has also announced the extension of three existing managed hosting providers from Enfield based LONDON1 into its Hayes LONDON2 data centre.

Darren Watkins, Managing Director, VIRTUS Data Centres says: “Following unprecedented customer demand for space in LONDON2 Phase1, VIRTUS has again partnered with Bouygues Energies and Services to build out the second phase of LONDON2. We’re delighted to announce these new wins at VIRTUS Data Centre sites in London. Given the success achieved by LONDON2 in the short amount of time it’s been open for business, we‘re excited about what this means as we enter the second half of 2015.”
