DataCentred has partnered with Storage Made Easy, the enterprise file and share sync solution, to provide customers in the public sector with complementary SaaS and IaaS via the UK government’s G-Cloud platform.
The partnership sees the two UK-based SMEs working together to deliver a secure file sharing alternative for government and educational bodies which will allow customers to store and manage data in a scalable and secure environment through a user-friendly interface. Both solutions are easily integrated, managed and utilised to set secure governance and compliance controls.
DataCentred builds and operates large-scale public and private cloud infrastructure powered by Open Source software. The company is headquartered in Manchester, UK, with customers in the academic research, public sector, higher education and broadcast industries.
Storage Made Easy combines public and private file sharing into a single, converged storage infrastructure. By streamlining multiple data silos the solution allows customers to avoid the “cloud sprawl” which occurs when several devices are connected to multiple cloud providers. Customers can monitor, secure and audit all data silos from a single access point, allowing for separation of sensitive corporate and non-sensitive employee information.
Dr Mike Kelly, CEO and founder of DataCentred said, “DataCentred’s collaboration with Storage Made Easy is a fantastic example of two innovative UK-based SMEs working to address the evolving cloud computing and data storage requirements of businesses today. Through the government’s G-Cloud platform, public sector customers now have access to state of the art solutions which will significantly benefit businesses hosting files in uncontrolled environments.
Jim Liddle, CEO of Storage Made Easy said, “With 70% of CIOs citing cloud data security as a major concern, it has never been more important for businesses to have full control over their information. Our IaaS solution has been tested and validated to work on DataCentred’s cloud in order to provide secure, reliable and responsive file storage for users.”
