"We are delighted to have won this prestigious award,” said Huw Owen, CEO of Ark Data Centres. "Ark is passionate about demonstrating that green practices and operational performance can work hand-in-hand through our sustainable and highly efficient data centre environments. This industry recognition is a true testament to the difference that Ark delivers to its customers and, following our significant joint venture with the Crown Hosting Data Centres, it is further proof that this synergy can generate considerable benefits.”
Ark prides itself on being a data centre company offering the lowest TCO which has saved both millions of pounds and millions of tonnes of carbon for organisations in both the public and private sectors. For example, Ark can save customers more than ?1.1 million from their power bill as well as over 6,000 tonnes of carbon annually, compared with an average data centre facility.
Each of Ark Data Centres campuses has been designed to maximise eco efficiency. Everything from permeable road surfaces that facilitate surface run-off of rain water (water is collected in balancing ponds or swales to manage and balance run-off), to harvesting systems collecting rainwater from the buildings for adiabatic cooling in the data centres reducing Ark's demand on the mains water supply.
