Elder joins Intel Security most recently from Rovi Corporation and Intellectual Ventures, having previously spent 13 years at Cisco driving more than $2 billion in product revenue annually. As vice president of advanced technology and enterprise for emerging markets at Cisco, Elder led the go-to-market and growth strategy for more than 130 countries. Rising to vice president of global sales for sports and entertainment, Elder was central in setting the strategic direction of new technologies and emerging systems.

“Andrew is an exceptional business leader with more than 25 years of experience with high-tech companies. His deep understanding of new technologies and the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape gives Elder the perspective and experience needed to help businesses overcome the seemingly incessant security challenges they face today,” said Scott Lovett, executive vice president of worldwide sales.

Elder is known for being a versatile leader and is passionate about understanding and solving business challenges. This drive and commitment to customer service has seen Elder visit more than a 100 countries in the last decade. Having lived in the Middle East, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States, Elder is well-versed on the unique challenges of many markets.

“There are infinite possibilities just within reach for organisations, but many are held back from truly harnessing the opportunities that abound in technologies like IoT, Big Data or Mobile because of the security risk,” said Elder. “This has to change. Security is an enabler for the technologies of tomorrow, but only when it’s built in from the start and is pervasive and integrated.”
