McQuay UK Ltd, one of the country’s leading suppliers of cooling and environmental control systems, has also announced a new extensive range of close control units engineered specifically for use in data centre cooling.

James Henley, Chiller Manager at McQuay UK Ltd, said: “We are pleased to announce the launch of our new range of close control units for data centre cooling. Our units are cost efficient, will assist in reducing a data centres power usage effectiveness, and have been designed for the specific purpose of regulating environments within data centres.

“Working with close control units designed for a specific purpose gives our customers greater performance and ensures that the critical electrical equipment housed within their data centres remains at its optimum working temperature.”

The close control units have a range of 6kW to 150kW and can be set up in multiple configurations to suit all applications. Built-in intelligent controls come as standard, and enhanced system optimisation between the chiller and close control unit’s operation can be provided.

Some units take advantage of free cooling – using cold air from outside to assist in chilling water used for data centre air conditioning systems – to enhance the units’ energy efficiency by cutting power usage by up to 75 per cent. Other features available with this unit include air cooled DX, water/glycol DX, chiller water cooling, and water and air side free cooling options.
