Dell Networking launches funding initiative

Financing solutions to help customers get the best value for money when upgrading their networking and campus infrastructures.

Dell has announced a new range of finance offerings for network solutions through Dell Financial Services (DFS)*. With the aim to support companies looking for intelligent solutions for their data centres whilst remaining comfortably in budget, these models consist of two different approaches. The data centre model will help hosting companies who want to invest in their growth over time, and the campus model will regenerate the campus network whilst simplifying cost management and budgeting.

The Data Centre Model
Whether constructing new infrastructures or expanding existing hosting plans, significant start-up investments are required from service providers, and getting a financial return on these investments is often delayed. To help, Dell can offer finance solutions for hosting companies through DFS. This data centre model will provide customers with the opportunity to calculate costs at any given moment, and as their IT infrastructure becomes more demanding, DFS can support the business with financing solutions.

One of the benefits Dell offers in its line of Active Fabric solutions, which use Dell Networking S-Series and Z-Series Switches, is the ability for companies to launch the 10/40 GbE Z9500 switch model at 36 active 40 GbE ports, and then gradually unlock up to the full capacity of 132 ports through a licensing model as needed. This can be initially installed as data centres build up their capacity, and can then scale up to the company’s demands as and when needed.

The Campus Model
Many companies are facing the difficulty of managing ageing campus networks. IT staff are expected to manage increasingly complex infrastructures while simultaneously attempting to develop and implement new services. Companies are now looking for solutions that will modernise the network with current campus access technology and, in turn, simplify and streamline service provision.

With the campus model, Dell provides companies with the opportunity to invest in a complete solution with integrated hardware, software and services based on a predictable payment model. For businesses, this means running a fully-equipped campus network infrastructure at a fixed monthly rate per port, and significantly simplifying budgeting and cost management.

Specifically, Dell offers the networking N-series that enables seamless scaling requirements. The series includes cost and energy efficient 1-GbE and 10 GbE switches, which provide an excellent range of services that facilitate modernisation and further expansion of campus networks. Companies can simplify the N2000, N3000 or N4000 network management models and easily deploy new applications, including the Gigabit Wireless Access Points Networking-W series solution.

“According to the latest World Economic Forum report, financing is still the number one challenge for UK businesses and has remained so over the past year,” says Ken Harley, director of networking, Dell UK. “With our financing solutions, companies will have the opportunity to replace outdated network technologies and the need for extensive CapEx and OpEx will be reduced. Dell Financial Services give these firms a chance to grow and develop at the best pace for them, whilst always working within their budget.”
