The IT facility, which will deliver 1100 square feet of data centre space, will host storage data and processing power for the systems driving Jaguar Land Rover’s new Engine Manufacturing Centre.
The modular facility has been designed to reduce onsite construction times and enable future expansion. The core data centre module will house up to 30 racks with a capacity of 320kW. The power module will be designed offsite to ensure easy onsite integration and scalability as the load increases. This will provide critical power via an N+1 UPS system and 2N standby diesel generators.
With efficiency and performance key to the requirement, the modular data centre will incorporate highly efficient air to air cooling systems. Utilising variable speed control fans, air will be provided through wall rather than using a conventional raised floor. With complete separation of hot and cold air it will accommodate a mixture of low to high density IT racks. This combined with efficient heat rejection will deliver a design PUE2 of better than 1.2.
Rob Elder, Director, Keysource, added: “We are delighted to be working with Jaguar Land Rover on their new modular data centre project. Our approach and solution delivered against all the performance requirements of a pre-fabricated modular solution yet delivered additional benefits on capacity, performance and flexibility. This solution combined with our expertise in high performance efficient data centres will hopefully prove to be a template for future external modular solutions.”
