Nimble Storage introduces SmartStack

Nimble Storage has introduced SmartStack™ for Oralce’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne™ at Oracle OpenWorld 2014. The solution enables customers running mid-sized deployments to rapidly upgrade to the latest version of Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, an integrated applications suite of comprehensive enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, to help meet high performance demands of business-critical applications and scale capacity without disruption.

SmartStack for Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is the latest solution in the SmartStack converged infrastructure family. Nimble’s SmartStack pre-validated reference architectures eliminate the challenges associated with deploying application, server, hypervisor, networking, and storage components. SmartStack for Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is comprised of a Nimble CS-Series array, Cisco UCS Integrated Infrastructre with UCS Mini and Director, and relevant Oracle products listed below. The solution allows the ability to upgrade to the latest version of Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, which can enable an advanced user interface, business analytics and mobile support capabilities.

Deploying the right storage solution can help support Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne environments, which require optimal performance for the transactional and analytical workloads of business critical applications. IT specialists are challenged with the simultaneous support of IT infrastructure and increased growth of application and database environments – all while staying within budget. In order to maintain and achieve full return on investment, they need a solution that is easy to deploy, offers high performance, enables greater consolidation of their storage infrastructure, and most importantly, allows them to be able to scale as business needs continue to change. SmartStack for Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne leverages Nimble Storage’s Adaptive Flash platform to help bypass these issues by offering a cost-effective storage solution that can deliver high performance and availability, capacity to scale, efficient data protection and enhanced management capabilities.

“Performance and availability are two of the biggest issues when it comes to meeting the demands of business-critical applications the enterprise requires,” said Radhika Krishnan, vice president of product marketing and alliances at Nimble Storage. “By leveraging our intelligent storage architecture, organisations are able to provide application-consistent performance and management, meet the increasing capacity demands of growing databases, while reducing costs.”

Nimble Storage’s Adaptive Flash platform is engineered to address the industry's most pressing storage issues: delivering better performance and capacity at a reasonable price, providing integrated protection with rapid backup and recovery and reining in storage complexity. The company's products are based on its patented Cache Accelerated Sequential Layout (CASL) storage architecture that leverages fast read performance of flash and the cost-effective capacity of hard disk drives. Nimble combines this flash-optimised architecture with Nimble InfoSight, a cloud based management service that delivers predictive support and operational simplicity through deep data analytics.

Nimble Storage Features New Converged Infrastructure Solutions at Oracle OpenWorld
