Fully integrated rack and server solutions feature role specific Monitor and OSD nodes with 10G frontend and bonded 10G backend networking, object and block level storage with S3 and OpenStack API support, low-latency hybrid disk configurations and Out-of-Band (OOB) server management software. Available now, Supermicro C-Series scale-out storage clusters provide production-ready software and commercial support for object and block storage delivering the highest levels of performance and reliability through its partnership with Inktank by Red Hat, creators of Inktank Enterprise Ceph.

Supermicro C-Series storage solutions provide enterprise class object-based storage with performance tuned memory and CPUs, seamless scalability, incremental flexibility and balanced SSD to HDD ratios for the best price-performance. The new hardware solutions take full advantage of Ceph’s automated, elastic storage deployment, expansion and location-aware architecture which synchronises data state as well as location across clients. In addition, the management system used in the turnkey solution has state of the art self-healing properties reducing further the management burden on storage providers.

“The proliferation of large-scale cloud computing has placed unprecedented demands on data storage providers,” said Dev Tyagi, General Manager, Supermicro UK. “Purpose built proprietary data silos have been increasingly replaced with server-based technology but this has brought its own challenges related to design and deployment for integrators. We have taken out the guess work from this with the launch of the C-Series storage clusters to help integrators with a scalable solution that will meet even the most stringent demands.”

Due to its modular, performance oriented architecture and the use of Ceph optimized server/storage configurations from its portfolio, Supermicro is able to price the C-Series at highly affordable levels, without compromising on performance.

“The range provides resellers and channel partners with a Ceph-based storage solution built on an infrastructure that can scale more efficiently and be configured appropriately to customer demands with far greater ease,” added Dev Tyagi.
