MapR Technologies appoints Patrik Svanström Vice President, EMEA

Enterprise technology veteran tapped to lead next phase of accelerated growth across the region.

MapR Technologies, Inc. has announced the appointment of Patrik Svanström as vice president, EMEA. Svanström will be responsible for MapR business activities across the region, including sales and partner development, strategic planning, customer engagement and revenue growth.


With over 20 years of experience in enterprise software and infrastructure markets, Svanström has held executive management positions at startups and multinational companies, including Informatica, HP, EMC, and Oracle.


“Patrik has a great deal of operational expertise having worked in a wide range of industry sectors,” said Steve Fitz, senior vice president of worldwide field operations, MapR Technologies, “We are excited to have him lead our EMEA organization as his experience driving successful go-to-market teams will help continue our accelerated sales growth across the region.”


MapR has established direct and indirect sales channels to capture and drive Hadoop adoption across the entire EMEA region. In the last 12 months, the company has opened new offices and appointed country managers in the Nordics and Germany, which complement existing offices in France and European headquarters in the UK.
