This puts VIRTUS Data Centres in a small group of elite companies in London to achieve the certification, and further highlights VIRTUS’ dedication to increasing its operational standards as it continues to work towards achieving additional recognition with supplementary ISO and ITIL certifications.
VIRTUS’ LONDON2 facility, which has deployed the advanced Excool technology, will open in September and has received Tier III Certification of Design Documents with its next generation, environmentally-friendly design. VIRTUS is only the third data centre provider within London to achieve Tier III Certification of Design Documents, reinforcing VIRTUS’ intelligently designed data centre offering.
Furthermore, to enhance its level of operational service, VIRTUS is collaborating with Blackmores, a leading business management systems consultancy, to achieve the ISO Standards across Quality Assurance (ISO9001), Environmental Management (ISO14001) and Energy Management (ISO500001). These globally recognised ISO standards compliment VIRTUS’ existing ISO27001 accreditation and will ensure VIRTUS continues to perform to internationally recognised and responsible levels of excellence.
VIRTUS is also refreshing its management processes using ITIL - the most widely adopted IT Service Management approach in the world - based on the latest industry thinking. All current and future operational staff at VIRTUS are being trained and certified under its exacting guidelines.
Neil Cresswell, CEO, VIRTUS Data Centres, said: “It’s extremely important to VIRTUS Data Centres and our customers that we maintain the top international standards for the data centre industry. We firmly believe that customers should not have to compromise on price or quality and by working to achieve these certifications, we are showing that VIRTUS can not only beat our competitors on flexibility but also ensure we do so without compromising on the high quality of service we deliver.”
Philip Collerton, Uptime Institute Managing Director for Europe said: “Uptime Institute’s Tier Classification System provides a consistent method to compare typically unique, customized facilities or designs based on expected site infrastructure performance or uptime. The Tier III Certification of Design Documents signifies the data centre design meets the requirements set out by Uptime Institute’s global benchmarking system and standards for Concurrent Maintainability. We congratulate VIRTUS’ LONDON2 Data Centre for achieving this goal and look forward to working with them as they bring those designs to life and progress towards the coveted Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility.”
