Gyrocom welcomes Peter Halls as Non-Executive Chairman

IT infrastructure specialist Gyrocom welcomes Peter Halls as Non-executive Chairman and advisor to the senior management team. He is probably best known in his role as CEO of network data company Omnetica where he and his management team increased shareholder value four fold within three years.

Graham Brown, MD of Gyrcom said, “The value that someone of Peter’s calibre will bring to our business cannot be overestimated. He will guide us on strategy and bring a fresh perspective to our business; being candid, we hope that Peter will help us to achieve exactly what he achieved at Omnetica.”

Gyrocom has been established seven years and as a well respected infrastructure specialist boasts some big hitters in its client portfolio including Kingfisher and the Co-operative.

Projects have included the successful international migration of one of Kingfisher’s data centres from France to the UK; significantly reducing its physical footprint while increasing efficiency, and the design and implementation of a firewall solution to over 3,000 Co-operative stores UK-wide as part of a PCI compliance initiative.
Peter commenting on his advisory role added, “I am very excited to be involved with such a passionate and capable team. The quality of the people, their expertise and service delivery rivals that of larger and much longer established businesses in the sector. Never more so than in the IT space is there the ‘David & Goliath’ – a few really large players with the smaller companies vying for their chance to shine in the extremely risk averse IT procurement arena. Gyrocom is passionate about adding real value, it’s refreshing and I want to play a part in the company’s growth.”
