As part of plans to expand its security capabilities to service global customers, NTT Com Security, the global information security and risk management company, has announced two senior appointments. Andrea Raven has joined as OffSec (Offensive Security) Director in Professional Services and Joss Ings-Chambers as UK Sales Director.

The latest move comes after NTT Communications publically backed the company’s change of name and intention to promote its consulting services and managed security services through the WideAngle brand. The investment has meant that NTT Com Security has been able to invest in recruiting skilled professionals to drive the expansion plans.

Andrea Raven has joined as OffSec Director in Professional Services for Northern Europe, a department that is responsible for delivering assessment services in the UK and Nordics. Reporting to Tom Salkield, Professional Services Director, Andrea will be responsible for defining and executing the offsec practice’s vision, strategy and business plan and raising its profile as a market leading centre of excellence in testing an organisation’s security defences.

Andrea has over 20 years’ diverse security experience in information systems policy, design, implementation, administration and auditing as well as experience in a variety of systems and networks. She previously held senior management roles at CSC, a provider of technology enabled business solutions. Prior to joining CSC in 2004, Andrea worked for Deloitte & Touche, the global consulting company, delivering technology risk consulting and information security services to a range of public and private sector clients.

“The appointment of Andrea is a strategic hire for our Northern Europe business as we see a huge business opportunity in offensive security and assessment-related services,” said Tom Salkield, Professional Services Director at NTT Com Security. “Andrea has been brought in to drive the activity forward in the UK and Nordics, raise the profile of offensive security, and grow our excellent professional services team. Andrea is an exceptional leader with strong operational and customer facing experience, and it’s a pleasure to have her on board.”

Joss Ings-Chambers has joined as UK Sales Director and takes one of the lead roles in UK management. Reporting to Neal Lillywhite, Senior VP of Northern Europe, Joss will be leading the creation and delivery of the company’s sales strategy to drive future growth in the UK. NTT Com Security’s recent rebrand to become the dedicated security arm to NTT Communications, along with its investment in Managed Security Services, led him to want to work for the company.

Joss has over 20 years’ experience in managing and leading teams, with a strong track record of building and managing successful multi-geography sales and operations teams. Prior to joining NTT Com Security, Joss was Managing Director for UK & Ireland at Software Improvement Group, a management consultancy that focuses on software-related challenges, and held commercial director roles at Okta8 Ltd and Grove Information Solutions.

“We aim to double the whole sales department by the end of 2014,” said Neal Lillywhite, Senior VP of Northern Europe at NTT Com Security. “Rather than recruiting someone from within the security hardware world to further strengthen our sales team, we wanted to bring Joss in due to his fresh sales perspective. His experience in consulting and managed services businesses in a mix of services has shown us he has an impressive sales track record and strong leadership skills.”
