Tech Data takes on Symantec security portfolio

Tech Data Europe says that its distribution agreement with Symantec in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands has been extended to cover Symantec’s full range of security, information management and availability solutions. As part of the agreement, resellers will now be able to purchase across Symantec’s extensive portfolio through Tech Data in the three countries, enabling them to meet the needs of all customers – from small home users to large enterprises – and take advantage of the wide range of professional and logistics services offered by Tech Data and its focused business units.

Reza Honarmand, vice president Software and Cloud at Tech Data, said: “Symantec is a leading organisation in the information protection landscape, offering a full range of solutions that meet the needs of all markets – from the ever-popular Norton, to endpoint protection and availability for SMBs, and comprehensive enterprise protection and information management software. With access to Symantec’s full portfolio, we will meet the full spectrum of requirements across our entire customer base – from independent retailers through to value-added resellers and systems integrators.”

Retailers and webstores can now make use of Tech Data’s market-leading electronic software distribution system for fast and convenient delivery of consumer and SMB products. For licensed products, they can utilise Tech Data’s industry-leading License OnLine system to provide prompt, accurate and efficient ordering and delivery of Symantec solutions. VARs and systems integrators will be able to call on the skills and expertise of Azlan, Tech Data’s enterprise business unit, to enhance their value propositions and compete effectively for large-scale security projects.

Commenting on behalf of Symantec, Jamie Farrell, EMEA channel director at Symantec said: “We are delighted that Tech Data has extended its relationship to offer our extensive solution portfolio. Tech Data is uniquely positioned to offer highly efficient supply-chain services alongside its focused technical consultancy, expertise and sales support. This will enable it to not only meet the specific needs of our valued partners, but will also support Symantec in meeting the needs of its customers in all sectors of the market.

Prior to the agreements being extended – and following the full integration of SDG into the Tech Data organisation – Tech Data had access to the Symantec’s enterprise availability solutions in the UK and the Netherlands.
