Happy 10th Birthday for Node4

Cloud and Data Centre specialist celebrates a decade of business success and growth.

Node4, the Cloud and Data Centre specialist, is celebrating its 10th birthday today. Founded in June 2004 by Andrew Gilbert at the young age of 23, the company has grown from a three-person start-up to one of the UK’s most innovative, independent Data Centre and cloud providers, employing 74 people and boasting nearly 1,000 customers and partners.

Back in 2004, Node4 was as a pure Cisco partner, reselling voice and data solutions to SMEs. Fast forward a decade and the company now has four Data Centres, offers a plethora of cloud and data solutions and is a certified partner of best in breed technology providers such as Microsoft, VMware, EMC and NEC and it continues to maintain its relationship with Cisco.

As a testament to its on-going success, Node4 has won a myriad of industry awards including the Deloitte Fast50, the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 and the ITSPA Business Best Business prize. And in 2011, Andrew Gilbert was awarded Ernest and Young, Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

“The founding ethos of Node4 was making innovative IT infrastructure available to all regardless of their size. We wanted to level the playing field for SMEs and help to ‘punch above their weight’ in terms of their tech ability. We have succeeded in doing and this ethos still rings true today,” explained Andrew Gilbert, Managing Director, Node4.

“But our success has only been possible by continually adhering to our two guiding principles; putting the customer first and employing great people. It is only through the sheer hard work and determination of our dedicated staff, who continually go above and beyond to deliver outstanding customer service, that we have been able to expand our business, particularly in a time of economic recession.”

“As more and more SMEs realise the benefits of outsourcing their IT infrastructure to a reliable and dependable partner, we expect our business to continue to grow in the coming years. By sticking steadfastly to our policy of putting customers at the heart of our business and hiring great people we know that the next decade will be just as successful as past the ten years,” concluded Gilbert.
