NGD to host Azlan’s CloudProvider On-Demand Cloud Services Powered by AirVM

AirVM and Azlan, a division of Tech Data, have selected NGD’s Newport, South Wales based data centre to host cloud on-demand software services for customers based in the UK and Europe.

As in the US and Canada, AirVM’s services will continue to be marketed to cloud providers and resellers in the UK and Europe under its global distributor ‘CloudProvider’ brand. Significantly, in the wake of growing NSA-related data privacy concerns, local country data will no longer be hosted from datacentres in North America.

Azlan’s CloudProvider solution is powered by AirVM’s AirSembly cloud delivery and commercialisation platform for VMware clouds. It caters to a comprehensive network of VARs who have built or are interested in building their own cloud infrastructure to offer cloud services and computing resources as a hosted solution to their end-user customers, and includes the ability to provide aggregated variable monthly billing to their customers.

“NGD’s world-class facility offers the high levels of security, scalability, connectivity and resilience we and our customers demand. This will allow AirVM and Azlan to focus on unlocking significant new sales opportunities in Europe and fulfilling pent up demand,” said Joshua Vautour, AirVM CEO. “Our move to NGD is also in response to UK and European businesses and government departments increasingly requiring data to remain in territory,” he added.

Sir Terry Matthews, Chairman, AirVM, said: “NGD has a world class data centre in South Wales which provides a secure and flexible environment to support the growth of the Azlan and AirVM business. The partnership represents an ambitious cloud project which will contribute significantly to the transformation of the region into a dynamic technology hub.”

“As a wholly indigenous, large-scale UK datacentre services operator, NGD continues to be in growing demand from both established and fast growing cloud providers and resellers,” said Nick Razey, CEO, Next Generation Data. “We are delighted to have AirVM and Azlan’s joint seal of approval which will further our aim of becoming the UK’s undisputed home of the cloud, while also adding value to our own Channel Partner proposition.”
