Big data integration in a small package

Ironcluster ETL, Docker Edition allows customers to try or deploy blazingly fast, full-featured ETL in minutes across physical or virtual, cloud or on premise systems.

Syncsort has announced the availability of Ironcluster ETL, Docker Edition, offering the ease of deployment and performance advantages of Docker’s lightweight, portable containers to deploy Syncsort’s ETL software in physical and virtual environments across the enterprise, on premise or in the cloud.

Ironcluster ETL, Docker Edition is listed as a Trusted Resource in the Docker Hub, where it is available today for a free trial or licensed use as a Docker container.
“Many of our customers are interested in the ease of provisioning, deployment and performance benefits Docker containers offer compared to traditional data transport and storage mechanisms, and even Virtual Machines,” said Keith Kohl, director, product management, Syncsort. “By making Ironcluster ETL available on Docker, they can take advantage of the disruptive economics delivered by its tiny footprint and high-performance architecture.”

In addition to creating a lightweight, portable and scalable container for faster provisioning and deployment, lower overhead and easier migration, Docker containers remove the need for the storage and extra layers required for a virtual machine. This saves additional resources and speeding the response time of applications in Docker containers.

Other customer benefits of Ironcluster ETL in a Docker container are:
· Deploys in just minutes, with a small footprint and without third-party dependencies
· Able to run anywhere – in physical or virtual, cloud or on premises
· Facilitates private and public cloud deployments
· Moves seamlessly from development to testing and into production
· Easily scales with growing data and workloads ? no tuning and no configuration changes required
· Enables a test drive download using the Docker container in the Docker Hub
· Allows deployment using the Docker container

“Organisations continue to look for the most economical and efficient way to deliver and run applications on disparate systems across the enterprise,” said Nick Stinemates, Director, Business Development and Technical Alliances, Docker. We are pleased that Syncsort is offering its customers the fast, easy delivery and cost, time and efficiency savings of Docker containers to encapsulate and deploy their market-leading ETL software.”
