Working on behalf of the UK’s leading independent engineering, IT and facilities services business, NG Bailey, which was recently awarded the contract to deliver a 100 rack, Tier 3 data centre for Manx Telecom, Borri Ltd was chosen for its extensive experience across the data centre field.
The company’s expertise has played an integral part in ensuring that the first phase of the new co-located data centre facility built for Manx Telecom was completed on time and in budget.
Chosen to work in complete harmony with other associated equipment and for their best in class performance, efficiency and build quality, the Borri B9000FXS UPS systems were FAT tested and installed within an impressive five week period.
To ensure that one UPS system always remains operative in the unlikely event of a UPS failure, Borri Ltd elected for the B9000FXS UPS units to be installed in a parallel redundant configuration, achieving a fully redundant system.
Certified by TÜV NORD Cert as one of the most efficient and resilient transformer based UPS systems on the market, Borri’s B9000FXS UPS units have a negligible effect on the mains supply as they come with IGBT (Isolated Gate Bipolar Transistor) rectifiers as standard, which provide less than three percent harmonic distortion and when operating in smart online mode can achieve up to 98% efficiency.
By selecting a UPS solution that complements the other electrical equipment on site, Manx Telecom will be able to benefit from substantial efficiency savings. This, coupled with the added efficiency gains from the UPS technology itself means that further savings can be expected through an up to 50% reduction in generator size.
Borri Ltd is a multifaceted business – incorporating not just complete project solutions and an extensive array of emergency power equipment but as the exclusive UK distributor for Italian UPS manufacturer, Borri Spa, the company also has access to the widest pool of technologically advanced UPS solutions available.
Borri Spa is a company specialised in custom design, manufacturing and servicing of power electronics equipment for industrial and ICT applications. Based in Italy with 12,000 m2 production space and a large full-testing area, the company can call on more than 80 years’ experience and multidisciplinary research and development.
