Onyx appoints business development manager for Yorkshire

Onyx Group has appointed Dan Hodgson as business development manager for the Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire regions.

Dan, 34, from Leeds will be tasked with promoting Onyx Group’s data centre in Rotherham and highlighting the facility’s high-calibre IT infrastructure and support services which are available to businesses.

He has previously held business development roles for a legal publisher and in the financial services with GE’s Auto and Home Lending services.

Dan said: “I’m excited about the opportunity to work for Onyx and be a part of a successful journey of growth for the business. The company is very well known in the North East and Scotland and it will be my responsibility to expand this profile into the Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire areas.

“Onyx already has a number of blue-chip clients and the standard of technology it has in place is very impressive. I was taken aback by the facilities available at the Rotherham site. It is a fantastic asset for businesses in the region.”

Onyx Group’s Rotherham facility offers businesses access to a 320 rack state-of-the-art Data Centre and a 250-seat workplace recovery centre. From this site Onyx can deliver Cloud hosting and backup, colocation, IT support and e-security.

Onyx employs more than 120 staff across the country from ten sites and offices, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stockton-On-Tees, Newcastle and London.
The company, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, has seen turnover approach £20million in 2013, an increase of 13 per cent on the previous year.
