With five, soon to be six, data centres in operation, DigiPlex is expanding to meet customer’s demand to store data via the cloud, providing a secure, resilient and efficient service. DigiPlex’s centres adopt the company’s Hypoxic Air Fire prevention system, meaning no risk of fire, offer stringent security and a guarantee of 100% concurrent maintainability with no down time.
Greg McCulloch, DigiPlex Commercial Director commented: “The approval, gained in just two weeks from submission, means we are continuing to grow our market leading position in Sweden and Northern Europe. Upplands Väsby municipality has proved to be a very business-minded partner in this project. The planned modifications utilise the space to optimum capability but we also placed importance on an attractive design; aims that were matched with those of the local authority [Upplands Vasby Kommun (UVK)].
“Demand for data storage is high and we are not only working to meet this but also strive to find new ways to make the world’s data storage requirements more environmentally sustainable. For instance, our award winning Air2Air cooling system, which will be included in the Stockholm centre, provides both the right environment for the equipment and great efficiency.”
The centre’s close proximity to Stockholm will provide clients with easy, convenient and high speed network connectivity. With one metre deep floor spaces, four metre ceiling heights and generous space, the existing space and new modifications make it the perfect environment to be a highly effective data centre.
The approval means that the construction phase can now begin, with the centre due to be operational by the autumn of this year.
