Further expanding its leadership in the IT security market in Europe, NTT Com Security acquired the Cologne- and Frankfurt-based company with almost 20 years industry experience, to strengthen its customer base among large enterprise and medium-sized organisations.

BDG’s employees will be seamlessly integrated into NTT Com Security’s DACH organisation headquartered in Ismaning, Germany, which employs more than 250 dedicated security experts and is part of one of the world’s largest providers of information security consulting and managed security services. BDG’s executive partners, Helmut Honermann and Karl-Heinz Jaeger, will hold managerial positions at NTT Com Security, while BDG’s founder John von Simson remains with the company in an advisory capacity. Dr. Matthias Rosche, Director Solutions & Strategic Accounts at NTT Com Security, will lead the integration project.

“As part of our ongoing growth strategy, this current acquisition is great news for both organisations. It allows us to continue to build our leadership position in Europe, optimise our security services for customers’ individual market needs, and also offer managed security services under our WideAngle brand to clients in Germany and the Benelux region. We look forward to continued growth and success in the region and to welcoming our new colleagues from BDG,” says Frank Brandenburg, Vice President Central Europe at NTT Com Security.

Helmut Honermann, BDG adds: "The welcome combination of BDG and NTT Com Security provides us with a great opportunity to better serve our customers with global innovative services beyond our current reach, and help them tackle today's security challenges. It also offers our employees new exciting growth and career opportunities."

Heiner Luntz, CFO of NTT Com Security, explains: “The financing is provided by NTT Communications, NTT Com Security’s largest shareholder. This funding is yet another confirmation of the extraordinary support that we receive from NTT Communications so we can continue our expansion, deepen our know-how and further enhance our security services.”
