Neo Telecoms deploys ADVA FSP 3000

ADVA Optical Networking says that Neo Telecoms has deployed the ADVA FSP 3000 to connect its Paris network with a new data center located outside the city. The new connectivity enables Neo Telecoms to target customers in previously underserved French markets. Deployment of the ADVA FSP 3000 supports Neo Telecoms long-term strategy to expand its network of regional data centers across France.

"Over 80% of all French data centers are currently based in Paris and that leaves many areas of France with insufficient capacity for proximity hosting, IP transit, network connectivity, cloud, storage and other high-demand business services," said Didier Soucheyre, president and founder, Neo Telecoms. "The opening of new regional data centers is critical to reaching new business customers in parts of France that have been historically underserved. The ADVA FSP 3000 is key to helping us achieve this goal. It provides us with the optical networking scalability to successfully fill that market void."

Over 10 years in business, Neo Telecoms has emerged as the second-largest IP operator in France and 37th worldwide. From its inception, the company has utilized carrier-class solutions from ADVA Optical Networking to enable build out of a pan-European infrastructure. Neo Telecoms has now deployed the ADVA FSP 3000 to enable 40 channels of transport of 10Gbit/s services across a 560km network that links the operator's existing infrastructure and a new data center in Besançon. The ADVA FSP 3000's reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) capability automates the provisioning of services to new locations and decreases the operational costs, planning requirements and complexity in Neo Telecoms' network.

"Neo Telecoms continues an aggressive build out of regional data centers in order to extend its reach to businesses and communities across France. There's a significant business opportunity here and we're intent on helping Neo Telecoms to realize it," said Fabrice Jean, vice president, North & Southwest Europe Sales, ADVA Optical Networking. "The scalability of the ADVA FSP 3000 provides Neo Telecoms with the nimbleness it needs to rapidly respond to any and all opportunities."
