LDeX Group says that Cogent Communications has launched its first point of presence in two years at LDeX via a new low latency Geo fibre route, signalling the strength and growth of the carrier neutral London based data centre colocation and network services provider.
As one of the world's largest Internet Service Providers, Cogent delivers high quality Internet access, Ethernet transport, and colocation services to Enterprise and NetCentric customers, Cogent complements LDeX’s existing list of tier 1 carriers and ISPs which already have PoPs in LDeX1, including Level 3 and Sprint, offering customers access to connectivity providers over diverse fibre paths.
Commenting on the news, Robin Garbutt, CEO said: ‘Having worked with Cogent over the last decade, we are delighted that the company has decided to launch a PoP with LDeX via our existing partner Geo. This point of presence will enable LDeX to be connected to over 1990 on-net locations giving clients a sizable scope for network reach.’
He added ‘The addition of Cogent will add significant value to our current colocation and network services offering and we feel that this will complement our existing list of tier 1 on-net carriers as well as enhances Cogent’s global data centre footprint.’
