Zenium appoints Julian King as commercial director

Zenium Technology Partners has confirmed the appointment of Julian King as Commercial Director. King brings a wealth of experience in the global data centre market to Zenium and joins the company’s senior management team as it commits to continued expansion in established and emerging data centre markets. Instrumental in the development and overseeing of Zenium’s commercial strategy, his initial focus will be identifying new markets in line with demand from Zenium’s customer base as well as supporting the global sales programme.

Prior to joining Zenium, King held the role of Group Commercial Director at Global Switch where he was responsible for the group’s commercial and sales strategy across its portfolio of data centres in Europe and Asia Pacific. He joined Global Switch in 2002 at a time when the sector was suffering the effects of the demise of the dot com boom and played a critical role in repositioning the business to attract global corporates and their reseller partners. More recently, King was Commercial Director of Volta Data Centres where he worked to establish its new facility in the City of London.

Commenting on the appointment, Franek Sodzawiczny, CEO at Zenium said, “Julian's lengthy and wide ranging experience in corporate real estate around the world, combined with his detailed knowledge of key industry verticals, is a very welcome addition to the impressive executive team already on board at Zenium. He will play a pivotal role in ensuring our commercial success and is sure to be instrumental in achieving Zenium’s ambitious growth plans in developing markets in the years to come.”

King added, “I’m delighted to be joining such an entrepreneurial company. Zenium has set its sights on operating at the forefront of the data centre industry and the experienced team, alongside significant financial backing, will undoubtedly take the business from strength to strength.”
