Schroff Varistar server and network cabinet

New features for tried-and-tested product portfolio.

ust as the demands on data centers are in continual change, the demands on the physical IT infrastructure itself also change. Pentair therefore continues to develop its IT products such as the trusted Schroff Varistar server and network cabinet. By means of a design change the static load-carrying capacity has been increased to 1600 kg and further new accessory parts have been developed for extra functionality and flexibility.
The increase in static load-carrying capacity was achieved simply by replacing the width-reducing adapter brackets previously used with cross members that can carry more load. The cross members feature holes set at 25 mm increments and this allows the user to move the 19" plane forward or backward in the cabinet, depending on how much room is required in the front for cabling. Schroff Varistar server and network cabinets are based on the trusted Varistar platform, so that the same accessories and expansion parts can be used and the cabinets can be arranged in rows without problems.

The range of Varistar covers for air baffling has been adapted to the new design and offers new options. Hot and cold air is efficiently separated, regardless of where in the cabinet the 19" plane is positioned.

A new, highly flexible option for fitting socket strips in the rear part of the cabinet has also been developed. New mounting brackets were designed that integrate directly into the Varistar meander profile. All Schroff socket strips offered by Pentair can be mounted using the holes in the mounting brackets, as well as strips from other manufacturers, individually or side by side on one side of the cabinet.

IT equipment such as servers, storage and switches from various manufacturers can be housed in Schroff Varistar server and network cabinets. With their well-designed and wide standard range of dimensions, accessories and expansion elements, Schroff Varistar cabinets can be adapted to the conditions and requirements of any data center. The special Varistar meander profile with its 25-mm hole grid allows accessories to be mounted on all three planes and offers optimized cable management in separate cabling zones. For access control, various locking options are available - from simple lever handles with or without DIN cylinder to electronic handles with IP addresses.

Naturally, all configurations offered by the Schroff Varistar platform apply not only to individual cabinets but also to the containment program, including the Schroff Varistar SHX30 in-row cooler.

By configuring a series of off-the-shelf components, it is possible to create fully engineered IT infrastructure solutions with a delivery time of just 10 working days.
