Performance driven storage from X-IO helps customers to unlock the potential of Microsoft based solution sets

Storage industry innovator X-IO Technologies says that its “Intelligent Storage Element” (ISE) storage solutions are now installed in 14 Microsoft Technology Centres (MTC) globally. As one of a small number of specialised hardware partners in Microsoft’s worldwide network, X-IO’s performance driven storage is being tested as part of the Microsoft enterprise architecture in locations including Paris, Johannesburg, New York, Beijing and Munich, with plans for this to increase over the next 12 months.

The digital universe grew by 50 percent in the last 12 months and analysts predict storage volumes will reach up to four zetabytes worldwide by the end of 2013. Managing the applications to utilise this data deluge needs a collaborative environment. Microsoft’s MTCs are designed to provide enterprises with access to innovative technologies and world-class expertise, enabling users to design and deploy solutions to meet their exact needs.

"Storage is all about achieving a balance of performance, risk and cost. X-IO’s ISE storage solutions offer incredible performance but at a competitive price. They have performed very impressively with Microsoft software to date,” said Cary Gottesman, Technology Architect, Microsoft Technology Centre, New York. “They work particularly well with our database applications, including SQL Server, where the ISE is a compelling option because it’s fast, easy to install and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. This is done without any fuss from a small footprint. X-IO’s ISE storage solutions are an ideal fit for MTCs and we currently have enterprises across a number of sectors, including financial and retail testing the systems. I am always very happy to recommend X-IO.”

As a member of the MTC Alliances program, X-IO is part of a select group of industry leaders in hardware, software and services. By working together, the MTCs and their partners provide customers with the products and services that exactly meet their needs.

"Over the last 12 months we have deployed X-IO ISE solutions in over 14 of the Microsoft Technology Centres. Enterprises globally are now benchmark testing X-IO as part of their Microsoft infrastructure environments and seeing dramatic application performance," said Gavin McLaughlin, Solutions Development Director, X-IO. "Our high performance storage offers customers more and plays a critical role in helping enterprises get the most out of Microsoft's modern operating system, server and productivity software."
