Airedale International displays latest high efficiency data centre cooling systems at Data Centre World 2014

Innovative British manufacturer, Airedale International, will return to this year’s Data Centre World with a selection of its latest precision air conditioning (PAC) and IT cooling systems.

On display will be the new SmartCool™ SN/SR chilled water PAC unit which provides up to 30% more cooling per kW/m2 than competing units, in addition to Airedale’s rack-based cooling systems which deliver industry-leading high efficiency aisle containment and hot spot cooling.
Airedale controls experts will also be on hand to demonstrate the ACIS™ BMS controls software which effectively integrates and sequences cooling plant for maximum resilience and energy efficiency. A fully integrated BEMS module will provide more advanced energy management capabilities such as calculating live CO2 emissions and PUE.

Visitors will also get a preview of the AireFlow™ indirect fresh air free cooling adiabatic air handling unit (AHU) which offers huge free cooling potential and, being an indirect system, eliminates the risk of contaminated air entering the data centre, meaning there is no need for 100% DX back-up cooling. An optional integral fresh air inlet for pressurisation and air quality removes the need for a separate AHU.

Also on show is Airedale’s latest high performance TurboChill™ FreeCool (TCF) chiller. The TCF offers twice as much free cooling as a thermosiphon-based chiller to deliver free cooling for up to 95% of the year1. The TurboChill™ FreeCool is available with the option of the low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant R1234ze, which has a GWP of six compared with figures approaching 1,300 for more traditional refrigerants such as R134a.

Under the title “An apples for apples comparison of the data centre cooling landscape”, Airedale’s Commercial Director, Mark Viner, will also be providing an overview of legacy and latest generation data centre cooling systems, taking into account the key criteria of energy efficiency, reliability and footprint in addition to capital and operational costs. Mark’s presentation will take place in the Facilities & Critical Equipment conference theatre at 10.30am on Thursday, 27 February 2014.

Airedale will be exhibiting on Stand No C55 at Data Centre World, 26-27 February 2014, ExCel London.
