The facility is also Infinity’s first modular design that employs scalable building blocks. It is the first time Infinity has deployed pre-built facilities for immediate customer occupation and the facility can accommodate a broad range of requirements from individual racks to fully dedicated data halls.
Slough will act as the physical launch-pad for Infinity’s new product offer, the ‘Infinite Data Centre’. Infinity’s new offer comprises three new product propositions, providing greatly increased flexibility to transform the way customers contract for data centre services. The Infinite Data Centre creates multiple choices for customers, including paying only for the power consumed and an option for no minimum power commitment, and is designed to respond to the constantly shifting requirements of the modern day CIO.
Infinity Slough’s modern design includes a scalable cooling system that provides power efficiency from part to full load (PUE 1.22 > 1.25). The design of this system was recognised as an awards finalist at the prestigious DCD EMEA awards in December. The facility provides numerous on-site and ‘near to door’ carriers, plus Infinity’s own telco services via a metro fibre ring.
Commenting, Stuart Sutton, CEO of Infinity SDC, said: “This is a major milestone for Infinity and I am extremely proud of the data centre we have designed, built and delivered here in Slough. Everything about this data centre is truly world-class.
“We see the data centre as a fully integrated part of the overall IT solution, not just the building where it resides and Infinity Slough is our launch-pad for achieving that. It enables us to deliver commercial innovation through our commitment to deliver more flexibility and greater value for customers.
“I am delighted that we have already secured two customers that are in the process of locating at Infinity Slough, which clearly demonstrates the attractiveness of both the location and facility.”
