A new product integration partnership has been set up between Egnyte and Synology with the aim of providing mid-sized businesses with enterprise-grade on-premise or cloud file-sharing and storage capabilities.

Egnyte’s contribution to the partnership is as the provider of a comprehensive file-sharing platform for the enterprise, while Synology brings its high performance NAS products to the party. The new combination is currently being demonstrated at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The integration will provide businesses with a single solution that enables secure local, off-line and cloud access to files from anywhere and through any device. Users can create and collaborate on files and then securely sync those files with Egnyte through the cloud to a Synology DiskStation NAS.

Growing businesses can deploy Egnyte on multiple Synology DiskStations across numerous offices, enabling the ability to connect them together under one central access point. This helps employees in distributed offices and in the field work seamlessly together as if they're in the same location.

Egnyte also eliminates the need to set up and maintain new infrastructure to provide secure file sharing beyond the firewall.

"We're thrilled to be working with Egnyte for this integration as it provides our customers with an enterprise-grade file-sharing application through our Package Centre, combined with the strength of our award-winning storage solutions," said Jason Bonoan, product marketing manager at Synology America Corp. "The ability to share files through the cloud with the combination of Egnyte and our Synology DiskStation NAS allows better network bandwidth and enables options for our customers to easily and securely share their business files both inside and outside of the office."

According to Bart Giordano, senior director of business development at Egnyte, the partnership provides the flexibility and storage requirements needed for mid-sized businesses. "The cloud is not enough when it comes to sharing and storing business files, and this partnership is a testament to the unique power of our platform to enable the best combination of on-premise and cloud sharing capabilities."
