Timico answers bandwidth boom with fixed-price Ethernet

Timico has responded to a 170% increase in demand for Ethernet services by launching a ‘market-changing’ fixed-price Ethernet solution. Ethernet solutions have experienced a boom in popularity as businesses upgrade from ADSL and FTTC broadband services in search of higher bandwidth and better SLAs to support business critical applications, data transfer and VoIP services.

Tony Tugulu, Director of Managed Networks at Timico, said: “We’ve experienced a big surge in demand for Ethernet services, but the set-up process can be complicated and previously depended on time consuming price quotations.

“Timico is hoping to change the market today by putting an end to variable pricing for Ethernet with the launch of simple, fixed pricing available nationally - making it much easier for growing businesses to make the leap to faster, more efficient connectivity.”

Timico has launched two new products in response to this growing business requirement. The first is Metro Ethernet, a high speed fibre connectivity service currently available in London, Manchester and Birmingham. It carries speeds of 50Mbps for just £399 a month or 100Mbps for a very competitive £449 a month.

The second product, National Ethernet, is available across the country and comprises high speed fibre connectivity with 50Mbps speeds for £599 a month or 100Mbps for £749 a month.

Both products come with stringent SLAs, premium class service, a range of Cisco routers and optional broadband backup - underpinned by Timico’s own national MPLS network and supported by its 24/7 Network Operation Centres in Newark and Milton Keynes.
