BDP, a major international practice of architects, designers, engineers and urbanists, is using a Meru wireless solution to future-proof its voice and data network, boost productivity and enhance collaboration and staff creativity.
The network will support BDP offices in London, Bristol, Sheffield, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. The WLAN also allows secure, instant access for visitors, using Meru’s Identity Manager solution.
“We wanted a WLAN that would help ensure high performance of both voice and data over IP now and in the future,” said Steve Peary, IT operations manager for BDP. “Our architects and designers working in the studios are always in and out of meeting rooms and break-out sessions in our main open-plan office environment. Being available all the time is critical for collaboration.”
BDP, which provides specialist architectural, design, engineering, sustainability and urban planning services, also plans to deploy Microsoft Lync to enable delivery of both voice and data over the Meru Wi-Fi network. The company worked with Building Zones, a Meru Gold Partner, to create the perfect work environment – one that supports the company’s strong belief that technological innovation should enhance business productivity.
“BDP is committed to enabling the highest levels of collaboration to enhance productivity and creativity among its employees and clients,” said Steve Woolley, UK sales manager for Meru Networks. “We are extremely pleased that BDP selected Meru to support their multi-city wireless deployment and are delighted that the technology has become integral to the way they do business.”
