Infortrend EonStor DS 3016 Systems gain Microsoft ESRP 2013 certification

Infortrend® says that its new EonStor DS 3016 subsystems have been evaluated and certified by the Microsoft Exchange Solution Reviewed Program 2013 (ESRP 2013). This indicates that these RAID arrays are ideally-suited to high performance and large capacity email server duties for Microsoft Exchange Server 2013.

Infortrend EonStor DS 3016 models can be scaled up to 324 drives via 6Gb/s SAS enclosures. With such high capacity and scalability, they can support up to 6,000 mailboxes per system. Email is fundamental to enterprise operation and a primary enabler of growth, and as companies expand they require a greater number of mailboxes and added capacity. Without adequate space, accounts overflow and stop working, especially as attachments continue to grow in size. This forces IT departments and users to halt productivity in order to archive previous emails and transfer media to new mailboxes. These processes are highly disruptive, time consuming, and frustrating, and can be mitigated by implementing Infortrend storage systems.

High speed EonStor DS 3016 systems have 16GB cache memory per controller to accelerate performance in frequently-executed tasks. When running Microsoft Exchange Server 2013, they deliver fast read speeds for quicker access to email with lower latency even across wide corporate networks. With smart media scanning, snapshot, and volume mirror included, EonStor DS 3016 systems deliver comprehensive recovery capabilities to ensure data integrity.

“Businesses and enterprises of all sizes depend on email as their primary method of communication, which means reliability and performance are of paramount importance. EonStor DS 3000 series systems meet Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 requirements, and offer customers a highly dependable platform”, said Josie Wang, Director of Partner Business and Development at Microsoft.

“We are very pleased that our close cooperation with Microsoft continues to be of great service to customers around the world. We’ve designed the new EonStor DS 3000 series as an all-purpose range of fully integrated storage systems with rich data services, with more models currently being evaluated by ESRP 2013. We will make relevant additional announcements at a later time”, said Thomas Kao, Senior Director of Product Planning at Infortrend. “The EonStor DS 3000 series offers excellent performance and scalability. We are confident many organisations will find these solutions highly beneficial for email server purposes and other roles”, added Mr. Kao.
