The EU Code of Conduct was created in response to the increasing energy consumption of Data Centres. It represents industry-wide consensus on best practice for driving energy efficiency and minimising carbon footprint. The Code of Conduct is acknowledged as the internationally-recognised gold standard of Data Centre best practice.
By implementing best practice appropriate to each data centre – in parallel with monitoring the indoor environment and energy consumption – energy savings of 10-25% can be achieved with minimal disruption and cost.
Proven Solution
Whilst an abundance of DCIM (data centre infrastructure management) products are available on the market, most are too complex to effectively implement, extremely expensive and resource-intensive. WEMS has developed a technology-driven approach which drives significant energy savings in data centres. The WEMS solution is both cost-effective and straightforward. It is well proven; it requires little overhead from over-stretched data centre employees; and, importantly, it delivers tangible and demonstrable results.
Working closely with the EU Joint Research council, WEMS is perfectly positioned to assist data centres of any size and complexity gain participation status of the EU Code of Conduct. This is in parallel with continuous improvements in energy efficiency.
“WEMSinternational has outstanding credentials in monitoring, managing and optimising Data Centres, large equipment rooms and exchanges across Europe for customers such as BT, Telecity and Colt,” says WEMS CEO, Paul Summers. “By leveraging internationally-recognised best practice in conjunction with our proven energy and environmental measurement technology, data centre operators now have a pragmatic and cost-effective option to drive genuine energy savings.”
Whilst the WEMS wireless offerings are ideal for many older, legacy buildings, hard-wired alternatives are also available and are widely deployed in some of the UK’s largest (and smallest) data centres.
