Peter Macarthur-King, General Manager – IT, Asia Pacific, SAI Global said: “We selected Tenable Network Security based on several fundamental criteria, including the need to find a solution which could provide a continuous view of vulnerabilities, passively discover rogue devices, and enable us to automatically receive reports on any potential vulnerabilities. Tenable discovers vulnerabilities and security issues on the fly even when we aren’t running active vulnerability scans. At the same time, it provides us with the ability to audit and track configuration and compliance failures, identify critical risks and help build secure configuration baselines.”

By continuously monitoring the network, Tenable provides SAI Global with visibility into both server and client-side vulnerabilities and identifies the flow of sensitive data as well as the use of common protocols and services.

Grouping systems according to their function or properties has also helped SAI Global to boost productivity by establishing ownership within its IT team and clarifying employee responsibility for fixing certain vulnerabilities.

“The results have been eye-opening,” continued Macarthur-King. “We discovered there were a few vulnerabilities within our network that had the capacity to pose critical risks to our environment. By deploying Tenable, we were able to create various types of reports to understand the configuration and compliance failures on our network, as well as identify the discrepancies in our patch management system. Tenable has also helped us monitor our network 24/7 for vulnerabilities, attacks and rogue devices. Remediating these vulnerabilities on a regular basis has improved the security of our environment.

“Tenable Network Security has given us an overall visibility of security risks within our entire network. Having all the data in one console helps us achieve faster insight into an incident and respond to it quickly. This helps us reduce the risk within our network and helps us maintain a high level of risk reduction,” concluded Macarthur-King.

All this is made possible with the help of Tenable’s authorised reseller in Australia, Content Security where they provide their knowledge and deployment expertise.
