Becrypt says that the latest version of its Advanced Port Control solution has achieved CAPS certification (CESG Assisted Product Scheme). Advanced Port Control (APC) is the only port control solution to be approved by CESG (the Information Security Arm of GCHQ), and extends Becrypt’s comprehensive Enterprise Data Protection suite to Government organisations with requirements to protect classified systems.
Becrypt APC v2 supports an expanded range of platforms, including Windows 7, 64 bit systems and servers running Windows 2003 and 2008 Server. Usability and management enhancements have been provided to ensure deployment and management is quick and easy, and optimised for tightly controlled environments.
APC provides device control functionality similar to Becrypt’s Enterprise Connect Protect solution, restricting and monitoring USB and peripheral device use, ensuring appropriate controls for the flow of user data at both the End Point and Server.
Dr Bernard Parsons, CEO at Becrypt, said: “At Becrypt we are committed to continually developing innovative solutions that provide robust security to meet the most stringent requirements while building in flexibility to improve the user experience. Becrypt APC remains the only port control solution that has CESG approval and is suitable for use at the very highest security grades.”
